2020.11.21 21:41 jamnation7 26 [M4F] Bangalore, India\Anywhere - If you like long bios, this is for you.

Hi,
I'll start off with the basics. I'm a 26 year old male living in Bangalore, India. I'm 6 foot 6, built like a bear, bald and with a beard. I'm a fantasy fiction author and poet. And I'm so tired of trying to find "the one". I'm certain now that she can't be in the same city as me, and dating apps don't help, so this is my hail mary attempt.
I'm weird. I know that. I act childish and goofy at times, make too many stupid jokes, and daydream too often. I am also a recluse, introverted for the most part, with random bouts of extroversion. I know what you're thinking. Why didn't I just call myself an ambivert? Well, see it's like this. I'll stay locked in my room for 6 months and then feel like going on a 7 day fiesta out of the blue. There's no word for that really, other than crazy.
On top of that, every girl I've ever dated has called me husband material multiple times before we broke up. Not to brag, but I do think I'm a very good partner, for the most part. By nature, I'm an extremist. So when I fall for someone, they become my sole focus because I'm very one track minded. But what I've recently found out is that not a lot of people are equipped to handle that level of attention, or match that energy of mine, which eventually causes problems.
Next up, I've been told I have the poker face of a professional player. Nobody seems to be able to read me in person, something which I have actually worked hard to achieve (reading psychology and other random things for fun\research is a hobby of mine). So while I consider it a proud achievement that I've been somewhat able to master my emotions in public, not everyone feels that way.
Also, I'm brutally honest. I mean Gandhian level of honesty. I do not lie, I loath it. And I do not like being forced to lie for others. I won't do it. I've lost friends over it, family too, but I'm hard headed like that. If I don't want to tell you something, I'll just tell you that, or stay quiet. But again, people don't believe this. My most recent ex made fake people to test how I interact with other women on social media. I passed, of course, but when I found out what was going on, she, sadly, failed.
And speaking of expectations, I'm very demanding of myself and the people I love, morality wise. I will always stand up to sexism, castism, racism, or any form of discrimination, even in passing. My law degree and liberal upbringing wouldn't have it any other way. Plus, how can I write and preach about morals if I don't imbibe them in my daily life? Hypocrisy is such a horrible hole.
I'm hypervigilant, I like people watching, I love intelligent conversations, and I love learning anything and everything under the sun! I'm kinky and open-minded, but in a monogamous setting. I can go on and on about who I am, but I can firmly say that I am a good person.
A good person who will be hard to deal with for most people. I am definitely not everyone's cup of tea. I guess what I'm hoping for is that somewhere, somehow, that one person reads this rant of mine and goes "Oh, he sounds delightful" and gets in touch maybe? I don't care about country, colour, creed, and I honestly don't have a type. I always just go on feelings. If we vibe, we vibe.
So, now that we're at the end, I would like to humbly apologise to all the people who read that and went "Oh he sounds like a nightmare." I know a lot of people who would agree with that. I've just run out of ideas, I guess.
Fingers crossed. And thank you for reading!
P.S: My chat is buggy. Please PM.

2020.11.14 07:50 Danguard2020 Light of the World

Keel'vereth stared at his supervisor. "What's with the human station? They've got all their lights on."
"Navigation lights are normal on a space station, youngling. You know that."
"No, I mean ALL their lights. Navigation, searchlights, scanners, fusion torches, thermal nodes, even the anti-asteroid laser arrays are powered up and glowing."
"You're kidding." Zuk'tremmel hauled his feathered bulk off the chair. "Hmm. I've never seen anything like it. Wait let me call Ju'karth."
Ju'karth answered the call bleary-eyed. "What's going on?"
Zuk'tremmel rapidly explained. "So you see, we're not sure why the humans are doing this. If there was an attack expected, they should be calling us. If there's a drill, likewise. ... Do you think it could be a coup?"
"Wait one, let me check the date..... Ah, that's all right, nothing to worry."
"Sir?"
"You two are new to this sector, right?"
"We've worked with humans before, sir." Zuk'tremmel drew himself up to his full height. "I served with the Sixth Fleet when they were partnered with the human soldiers during the liberation of Delta Tau."
"I'm not doubting that, Zuk. You've worked with their soldiers, but not their civilians, right?"
"Only a little, sir."
"So you know about human religious practice?"
Zuk'tremmel nodded. "They have a god who hands out gifts on one day a year."
".... Zuk'tremmel, how many religions do the humans have?"
"Sir? Every species has one religion. That's well known."
"Not the humans. They have more than sixty."
".... That's not possible." Keel'vereth winced. "Every species goes through the phase of religious schism, then civil war, then unity, then a common view of the faith, and finally the separation of church and state."
"Well, the humans never did the third step. Or the fourth. They had plenty of religious wars, though."
"... and they survived them?"
"Yes, they did. One of the festivals is they celebrate is called the Festival of Lights. Ignore it."
The two nodded. "As you say, sir."
Half an hour later, Keel'vereth spoke up again.
"There's something off about this, you know."
"Eh?"
"I remember the humans we served with. Most belonged to the church of the red suit and the cross."
"Church?"
"Some of them call their temples churches. I used to think it's multiple words for the same thing, now it turns out it's different types of temples for different religions."
"You really don't have enough work, tech."
"I can monitor the scanners and search online at the same time. Don't tell me you don't want to know. Boss."
Zuk'tremmel sighed. "Fine, you got me curious. what did you learn?"
"Apparently the faith that actually celebrates this is only one eighth of their total population. So why would the whole station be lit up?"
"That's a good point. Did you find out why?"
"No, I couldn't."
Zuk'tremmel sighed. "You know I really hate doing this...."
"It's eating you up inside, isn't it?"
"Yes, dammit. Wait. I'll call her."
".... Her?"
"You'll see. Computer, place a call to Senior Technician Mikaela Barnes in the human station."
Keel'vereth gave a quizzical look. "Barnes?"
"A friend. We served together."
"...Did you now."
"Don't look at me like that. They think we look like oversized poultry, you know?"
"I've always thought they look like hairless gorchim."
"Don't tell her that please...."
The screen lit up with a white-uniformed human female. "Zuk! How are you, you big ol' turkey?"
"Shiny, Mikaela. You are well, I hope?"
"Yeah. It's Diwali here, so we're celebrating."
"Ah, yes. A most curious custom. I was not aware that you subscribed to the faith of the many gods?"
(Keel'vereth reflected that perhaps he was not the only one who'd been searching online.)
"Oh, this isn't a religious festival. Well, it is, but that's not the only thing we celebrate."
"I am most curious about how all of you celebrate."
"It's a bit of a long story. You know about Earth's First Contact war?"
"Didn't the Gyrfalc tried to invade you?"
"Ten of their warships. Back then we didn't have a space navy. Heck, we had trouble getting into orbit reliably.
"The Gryflac attacked us out of nowhere. Space based artillery, taking out our satellites and hitting our cities. Demands for gold, uranium and slaves. We had no starships, no battle stations.... just one International Space Station with zero weapons, a Space Force that consisted of ten unarmed shuttles, and a bunch of missiles.
"What we did have was a lot of brave pilots. Air forces acroos the world with hundreds of jet fighters. And a bunch of mad rocketheads sitting in Bangalore who figured out a quick-and-dirty way to convert a jet fighter to a rocket fighter.
"It was an insane, harebrained idea. But somehow they made it work, and when the ten Gyrfalc destroyers came close enough, the Earth based air forces launched whatever they had converted.
"The 389th Thunderbolts, the 493rd Grim Reapers, Number 18 Flying Bullets and Number Three Squadron. Sixty-three converted fighters with maybe four to six missiles each, barely able to scratch Gyrfalc armor."
"... That is insane. How did they survive?"
"Mostly, they didn't. The Battle of the Moon is something that's taught to all our people, a moment in history which changed the world.
"You can see the recordings of the battle if you want, but the long and short of it is - after killing the ten Gyrfalc starships, all of the fighters had been destroyed. Fifty-four of the pilots had died, and the nine survivors were the ones who had ejected before their craft blew up. Or in Squadron Leader Parashuram's case, ejected from their burning fighter, fought through the belly of an enemy starship, and then escaped from THAT into deep space.
"The thing is, somewhere along the line the ECM pulses had fried their comms. So we knew the pilots were out there, floating in space, and with no way to find their way home.
"Space is big. You can get oriented the wrong way and totally lost. It's also dark and cold, and in the suits we used back then, if the pilots didn't get back to the International Space Station within ten hours, they would die.
"So that November 14th, the ISS crew lit up every light on the station. They turned it into a blaze of light, made it shine brighter than any star, even as their batteries ran down doing it.
"Parashuram saw it, and remembered. Diwali is the festival of lights among our people, meant to guide our heroes home.
"And it's in memory of that day, every year, that we light the stations of our people to serve as a beacon to bring the lost home."
Barnes smiled. "Happy Diwali, Zuk'tremmel."
Keel'vereth could swear that he saw a smile upon his supervisor's face. "Thank you, Mikaela Barnes. Happy Diwali."

Hey everyone! It's Rats, long time no see! I haven’t put out an ad in quite some time because of a much needed break, a lot of reconnecting and sadly losing partners as well, so I’m eager just to toss out some ideas and see what sticks!
I do paragraph form roleplaying in 3rd-person over Discord, canon characters only. I’m really sorry, I don’t do OCxCanon stuff! It’s just not my cup of tea, I only do canon characters. I’ve also begun to lean away from strictly NSFW focused ideas. I don’t mind but I’ve lost interest in a good majority of those centered around it. I don't always do regular postings but I always, always have time to share ideas with my partners, OOC chatter is my favorite, and I’m always a sucker for passing around ideas!
Here is a list of the series I roleplay from, as well as a brief synopsis on the ideas/pairings for some of them.
Apex Legends - I would love to do something with a Mirage/Wattson, Crypto/Wattson, Wraith/Horizon, BH/Mirage or Loba/Bangalore. I really love the dynamics between all of these characters, so any of them would do just fine! I’ve also got a sweet spot for Gibraltor and most of the canon males as well!
RWBY - I’m a fan for most ideas, though I’m heavy into Pyrrha/Jaune and would prefer not to split them up. Everything else is up for grabs! I love AU’s from both ends; we can do something charming like a classic tattoo shop next to a flower shop idea, or head into more action territory with a Battle Royale/Hunger Game-esque and zombie settings. Just reach out to me and let's get talking!
Overwatch - I’ve been playing for years and known the (albeit inconsistent) lore like the back of my hand! I can do either canon or AU here, and I’m a big fan of playing Gabe, Lena, Lucio, Satya, Olivia, Angela, Jesse and Ashe. I can try the others but it might take me some time to nail them down.
She-Ra and the Princess of Power - I’ve gotten a lot of replies but hardly anything solid going for this series. I don’t mind doing AU’s or canon, I’m pretty open to any pairing as well. I’ve got a spare starter from a Catradora band and a guard AU that was left as well.
Persona 5 - I’m a huge fan, same as above. I’ve got a spare starter from a Heist roleplay that was canceled. I really love the idea of hitmen or more darker themes in a modern AU. I can play Akira as well as Akechi, Ann, Makoto and a hint of Yusuke if I really try.
Resident Evil - I recently played through both RE5 and RE6 with a close friend, as well as rewatch some of the game clips and movies. I’ve known the series for years and don’t mind some canon or alternate takes. What if the RE2 gang ended up in the mansion? What if certain characters had survived? What if others didn’t? I’d love to play as Claire, Ada, Sherry, Chris or Jake here! I'm also willing to pick up Jill again if someone's interested in someone returning to play her!
Some miscellaneous fandoms!
Life is Strange - I can play Rachelle and Chloe!
The Boys - I just finished the series! I loved the whole gang, but I’d prefer playing as the Boys themselves rather than the 7.
ReBoot - Anyone like this show?! I’d got a heavy itch for an Enzo/Matrix to my AndrAIa like it's nobody's business.
Glow - I can play Ruth, Debbie or Mel!
My Hero Academia - Same as RWBY, I would kill for darker themes! Think similar to The Boys; hero’s aren’t as great as they’ve been worked up to be. Noir ideas, heroes taking matters into their own hands, murder mysteries, a normal au with Battle Royale settings! I’m also really good for modern stuff with the kids just messing around, doing band or spending the summer hanging out!
Steven Universe - I can play Pearl, Rose, Lapis and a few others as well!
Kingdom Hearts - I love this series and I’m pretty much caught up with everything, minus the phone game lore, but I could catch up real quick if I tried! I’d love a Terra to my Aqua, or anyone to hang out with my Xion!
Fullmetal Alchemist - Big fan of the show, I would need to retouch on some of the lore, but I’d love to dive into it!
Soul Eater - I love the series and would love to write as Maka for someone’s Soul! I can also play both twins, Soul himself and a few other characters too!
Some of the last ones are things like Umbrella Academy, Riverdale, Crazy EX-Girlfriend and the ATLA/LOK series. I don’t have anything in mind for stuff like that, so give me a quick note beforehand and I’ll let you know if I’m still interested in roleplaying from them!
For series AU'S, I would love to do any of the following;
Hollywood AU - Something similar to the Netflix show of the same name, or something set in a 40's-60's Hollywood era. Maybe one character is the American Sweetheart type of person but can’t sing or act, while the other is incredible at their craft, but is too wild and carefree to apply themselves to it?
Kentucky Route Zero AU - Its that last stretch of road that's the hardest to cross. I would love to do something with a small batch of characters meeting and passing through one or two main characters quest through the unknown.
Battle Royale/Hunger Games AU - I love characters fighting to the death, or being pitted against each other with heavy doses of drama in between. If you don't mind having some fan favorites going at each other for survival, I'm the girl to get in contact with!
AI and Human - Enough said! Just looking for some space/futuristic stuff where an AI and human are friends, but relationships continue to grow
Fallout/Apocalypse/Zombie AU - I would love to have characters travel across New Vegas or zombies eating at each other! I also would love to do a Bioshock setting one as well
Darker ideas/Horror and drama - I live for darker ideas (with a few exceptions), especially in the horror categories!
Just normal AUs - Bring on your coffee shop au's and your florist/tattoo shop ideas!
With all of this being said, please, PLEASE don't contact me if you plan on starting off with "hey i wanna do a ___ roleplay" and then proceed to lead me in circles with "Idk" or "Whatever you want". I won't even bother responding if you plan to come in like that. Come to me with ideas in your message beforehand! Give me some enthusiasm! I've had plenty of partners that start off fantastic, only to lose touch three messages into planning, or will suddenly go AFK. I don't mind if you need to take some time off, or even if you wish to stick to OOC and idea sharing, but it's so disappointing to start a roleplay only to have the other person drop out with no reason why.
If any of the things I’ve mentioned here caught your eye, please PM/DM me your ideas and with the word "Ratatouille" so I know you've read through all of it!
See ya real soon!

MCU - I’m all caught up on the movies!
For series AU'S, I would love to do any of the following;
If any of the things I’ve mentioned here caught your eye, please PM/DM me your ideas and with the word "Popcorn" so I know you've read through all of it!
See ya real soon!

2020.09.15 05:52 jamnation7 25 [M4F] (Anywhere) This is going to be long and weird so please bear with me

Hi,
I'll start off with the basics. I'm a 25 year old (going to turn 26 in a day or so) male living in Bangalore, India.
See, by nature, I'm an extremist.
I do have some dark and kinky secrets, but I don't think this would be the right place to elaborate on them.
I don't care about country, colour, caste, creed, and I honestly don't have a type.

2020.08.29 17:28 thisiskishor Looking for Co-Founders Anyone got ideas they'd like to work on?

[Reposting for a better reach]

Hello guys,
How's everyone doing? How's the quarantine treating you so far? lol
So, lately, I've been thinking a lot about the technology boom happening in India & how far they've come within just a few years. A lot of companies that started in India are easily going global & raising a lot of capital from international investors. And it got me wondering, wouldn't Nepali startups be able to do the same if we were to piggyback on the trend? lol
I mean, people from either country can easily register & start a company or partner with already established businesses on either end? I think Sastodeal just collaborated with Flipkart & Myntra in India enabling the trend & route for other companies to follow. So, I really want to be a part of the next, technological paradigm shift that is about to take place in India, possibly the new silicon valley, Bangalore & for that reason I have been seeking to network with other entrepreneurs in this sub who have a similar mindset & are also looking for people to work together in/with their ideas. Sounds about right? If this rings a bell for you, don't hesitate to get in touch with me. I am open to all sorts of Ideas as I too have some plans that I need help to execute.
However, what do I have to offer in return for the partnership, you ask?
Knows Graphics Designing: Can do all the initial Designing Works
Know Film Making: Can make initial photo & video advertisements for our product with low budget
Is good with people: Can communicate/pitch ideas effectively to people & investors
Has experience operating Startups: Having Co-Founded one innovative failed startup & 3 other (running) ventures, I think I have learned enough on all the do's & don't in Startups.
Has networks with Venture Capitalists & Investors of Nepal: Have participated in a couple of Startup Pitching Competitions, I have managed to network with some of the biggest investors of Nepal. Moreover, I am currently studying Business Administration at King's College (one of the most entrepreneur & startup focused colleges) which can be leveraged to gain access to more investors if required.
Has networks with Media Personalities in Nepal: Easiecheaper to market our product if we take this route.
Is working to establish a Personal Brand as 'YouTube Filmmaker' in Nepal: Can be leveraged for free/easy marketing & investment opportunities if done right.
Has a basic understanding of Programming: Can understand a little of how a program works / should work. Easier to communicate & explain the idea to the tech team.
So my plan is, we start the company in Nepal → gather enough seed funds to sustain it for the next 3 years at least → expand & collaborate with teams/companies in India → Try to make it big there → & then finally launch globally. Sounds easy, right? Trust me, it is.
Also, one of the biggest misconceptions people have about startups is that you need need a completely new & innovative idea to succeed - which couldn't be any further from the truth. In fact, the more innovative & groundbreaking your idea is, the more likely it is to fail because of the premature market. People won't be needing your product/service just yet. So, it's a lot of struggle in the beginning years which is one of the reasons why so many startups don't make it past the second year. The good approach would be to take inspiration from already successful businesses operating in other countries & implementing those back here in Nepal first; slowly trying to take it global & eventually competing with them altogether. I see a lot of potential in the Indian market initially. So, if you have an idea & want someone to work with you on it, hit me up. Let's chit chat for a bit & see whether if something workouts. We might be the next Zuckerberg or Ritesh Agarwal (Met him once, but didn't recognize, ahem); who knows! Life is too short to not try exhilarating things. If not, we at least would get introduced to a new friend? So, nothing to lose either way. Cheers!
You can get in touch with me via the classic Reddit PM or either of the mentioned social media networks if you're not comfortable revealing your identity here. I'm active on Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin orr you could also mail me details on [email protected]kishorgartaula.com.np
Remember, An amazing idea is just a useless mere thought unless executed. So, take some action & Let's make it big, bois!
PS. Even though a pair of 2 is considered to be the best duo for co-founding a startup, I am open to having team members of up to 3 more partners with knowledge in different fields.
  1. Someone good in Marketing & Business Development
  2. Someone good in Programming
  3. Someone good in Designing with a creative mind

TLDR; Looking for a co-foundeTeam to work fowith a startup. Have a couple of venture ideas, but we don't need to necessarily stick to mine; open to new ideas.

2020.08.23 09:55 cyberspark15 Would like you to try the app I’ve built and provide feedback :)

A lot of our purchases happen online. However, there are some purchases that you would prefer doing offline and some services that you have to do offline. From my experience, there were a few problems that one typically faces:
  1. Finding a store that sells the exact product or provides the service (repairing a phone, laptop, etc.) you’re looking for
  2. Prices varying wildly and it being really hard to compare prices between different stores because of problem #1
Not to mention during COVID-19, the faster you can get back home, the better.
So I set out to try and solve these problems using an app (surprise!) - I named it Scout.
A lot of the current solutions help you check product availability at a specific store using an inventory. This changes that approach a little.
How it works is:
  1. You enter what you’re looking for (being specific really, really helps!)
  2. You get real-time price quotes from stores within the radius you specified that have the product or provide the service you’re looking for
  3. You choose to visit a store that is convenient or contact them for any further clarifications (home delivery, service questions, etc.)
  4. You pay the store directly
What do I charge you? Nothing. Zero. Nada. The store keeps 100% of what you have paid them. It's completely free for you to use.
You must be wondering, what’s in it for me? The goal is to charge the store to use offerings provided by the service. But that’s some way off.
I had the app ready by June. I’ve been able to fulfil around 88% of the searches that have come in. One instance I’d like to highlight - found a store that sold a washing machine FHT1207ZWL for ₹34,000 and provided free home delivery too. This was lower than any online store - Amazon, Flipkart, Croma, Reliance Digital, etc. and lower than 5 other offline stores that sent in their price quotes. Online shopping has conditioned us to believe they provide the lowest prices. But that isn’t always the case. :)
Searches are currently restricted to Bangalore and the following categories.
  1. Baby Products
  2. Computers and Accessories (Sales & Service)
  3. Grocery & Foods
  4. Home Appliances (Sales & Services)
  5. Medicine
  6. Mobiles, Tablets & Accessories (Sales & Service)
I’ve added a few 100 stores so far but the more the merrier! Also, I am definitely looking to expand to more categories + geographies soon.
You can give Scout a shot here: Play Store Link. (It’s only available for Android right now, sorry). Please search for something only if you’re genuinely looking for it. There’s a lot of effort that goes into processing each search. :)
If you run a business that you’d like to add to Scout, you can do so for free and respond to queries directly on the Scout Partner app here: Play Store Link
If any of you have wondered - why does it say “I” everywhere. It’s because I’m currently doing everything myself. If you’d like to be involved in some capacity, please do reach out. I’m not sure if I can pay salaries right now, but I’d love to be a part of a team that can work on this.
This is my first venture and I’d really appreciate any feedback/advice you might have. Looking forward to your bouquets/brickbats! :)

2020.08.12 19:49 m4nki Summary of Tau-Chain Monthly Video Update - July 2020

Karim
Agoras Live: Five functionalities complete: 1. Registration 2. Login 3. User Profile Page 4. Calendar 5. Categories List 6. Wallet Screen Payments: Decided that implementing lightning would be too complex. Instead, we decided to implement our own micropayment mechanism using the native BTC multisig addresses. We are going to use the Omni wallet for payments. TML: Continued debugging, getting a TML demo and test cases ready. Hiring: More hiring efforts to increase team size. Timelines: Committing ourselves to a release of Agoras Live and a basic version of discussions in TML in 2020.
Umar: Been working on making improvements to the context free grammar parsing. We now are able to add constraints to productions in the grammar, allowing us to recognize grammars that are context sensitive. Developed test cases for that, too.
Tomas: Fixed issues in TML and ran several steps in a TML program. Now adding more tests to make sure everything is stable and won’t break. Also been working on a TML tutorial, a recorded script based on the intro to TML which was contained in the TML Playground. Also new features are going to be covered such as arithmetics.
Kilian: More outreach & follow-ups to potential partner universities. Positive response by a professor based in Toronto, presented to him our project. Also, response by KULeuven, Belgium, who unfortunately don’t see a good fit in our project. We’ve had one applicant for the IDNI Grant program and currently are evaluating his proposal. Also, we’ve had an applicant from Bangalore, India for the IDNI Ambassador program and we also have been discussing his proposal. Translation Bounties: We’ve had the blog post “The New Tau” translated to Chinese and have been reviewing the translation. We are going to publish the translation on our website and on the Bitcointalk Chinese forum section. Still to be claimed: German translation of “The New Tau”. Done more effort on reach out to potential tribe channels: Research groups, LinkedIn groups, Facebook groups. Most represented keywords: Complex Adaptive Systems, NLP, Computational Linguistics. Usual feedback: Likes but no further interaction. Created an FAQ answering all possible questions surrounding IDNI, Tau & Agoras Idea: Hosting a virtual panel to spread the word about our project among the scientific community, as well as to create some visual content for our community. Two professors are interested in participating, one from Argentina with a focus in semantic parsing, the other one from the University of Washington with a focus on human-computer interaction and social computing. First step: organizing a pre-panel discussion where in 1on1 calls with the professors we get an opinion of them about what we are doing.
Andrei: Agoras Live: Implemented mail system so users now get their mails (e.g. registration email). Improved UX together with Mo’az, e.g. user profiles. Token creation for accessing calls to identify and charge users. Customized Jitsi interface to suit our needs: E.g. display of how much time passed in a call and how much it costs. Next up: Further improve UX; make sure everything works as intended.
Mo’az: Almost finished the IDNI website. Added two more pages: Events & Bounties in collaboration with Fola & Kilian. Agoras Live: Finetuned all the website’s components in collaboration with Andrei.
Juan: Continued working on the payments system for Agoras Live. Had some delays due to the complexity of debugging such applications. Still, we made significant progress and got the funding transactions implemented over the Lightning network through the Omni layer. Spent time analyzing the minimum amount of BTC to pay for the fees associated to the Omni transactions. We aren’t using segregated witness native addresses and instead are using embedded segregated witness. So transaction sizes are enlarged and transaction fees are a bit higher. So there is a bit of finetuning analysis needed in order to enable the multisig address to pay for the closing & refund transactions. So to provide payment channels over the Omni layer, the main remaining technical detail we have to solve at this point is the closing transaction & the refund transaction.
Fola: Have been continuing to look for great talent in different areas. Continued working on website with Mo’az and Kilian. Been working on the branding for Tau & Agoras. Been getting external support to make sure the branding for Tau & Agoras will be as professional as it can be. Working on marketing efforts needed for the release of Agoras Live to get the media pack for marketing ready. Working together with external people to put a plan together for listing the Agoras token on more prominent exchanges as we get closer to release of Agoras Live.
Ohad: Continued working on restricted versions of second-order logic to understand how to implement them. There is a translation in the literature about how to convert second-order logic by Horn into Datalog. Also, I have been revisiting papers that deal with descriptive complexity of higher-order logic. They mention that they have a translation from second-order logic to QBF. I wasn’t able to find where they explain this translation but I wrote one of them and he said he will send me the paper. If so, that will be very good because we already have a QBF solver. Any binary decision diagram is already a QBF solver, so we can just translate arbitrary second-order logic formulas into QBF. This will be very helpful for us to implement second-order logic. Also, those papers mention several aspects that are relevant for self-interpretation, the laws of laws. Apparently, they suggest that certain fragments of higher-order logic may also support the laws of laws. But this is part of the papers that I didn’t have access to, so I have to wait to get further clarification. I also pushed the whitepaper significantly this month and hope we will be finishing it soon. Also, I was thinking about some optimizations for the parser and also was looking into the Lightning network. It was my mistake that I haven’t done so beforehand and if I had done it beforehand, I would have understood earlier, that Lightning is too much. It is too drastic of a change to how traditional payments work and there apparently is no reason to believe that it is secure. So I’m glad I discovered better now than later that it’s not something we’d like to rely on, although we can have it as an optional feature.
Q&A:
Q: With the project development taking longer than other projects such as Tezos, when can AGRS holders expect something to be released and, how can you reassure us that we made the right decision?
A: With regards to when we see some releases, it seems that we will see some releases in 2020. For comparing to Ethereum and Tezos: Let’s first talk about funding. Both projects had a lot of money. For Ethereum, the reason for is that it has probably done one of the most aggressive marketing campaigns in history. It was completely lacking any kind of honesty. It was simply aggressive. None of Ethereum’s visions and promises became true. It simply became an insecure platform for scams. None of their vision of creating a world computer, of creating a better society, a better currency, became true. Because of this aggressive marketing, they not only raised a lot of money, they also took the price to be so high in the market. If you remember the campaign of the flipping, they did a whole campaign on how they would overtake the marketcap of Bitcoin. For Tezos, they made maybe the largest ICO in history in terms of money, mainly because they came at the right time, at the top of the bubble in 2017, and also their promises for better coordination didn’t come true. Their solution is based on voting and based on Turing completeness and the only reason why they managed to gain such a market cap as of today, is not because they offer better currency, better society, better anything. It basically is a Ponzi-scheme because they offer very high interest rate by very high inflation (5,51%). The only reason why people buy Tezos is to get into this Ponzi-scheme. Because both Tezos and Ethereum lack any true economical or technological substance, their value will not sustain and this is true for almost all projects in the cryptocurrency world. In the software, high-tech market, if you come up with good tech and you do all the right things, you succeed big time. But if you don’t have it and you are purely relying on brainwashing people, it will not sustain. Of course, our solution is so disruptive and sustainable. We offer to do advancements for humanity and for economy.
Q: What three subjects would you first like to see discussed on Tau?
A: Of course, picking three subjects now is a bit speculative, but the first thing that comes to mind is the definitions of what good and bad means and what better and worse means. The second subject is the governance model over Tau. The third one is the specification of Tau itself and how to make it grow and evolve even more to suit wider audiences. The whole point of Tau is people collaborating in order to define Tau itself and to improve it over time, so it will improve up to infinity. This is the main thing, especially initially, that the Tau developers (or rather users) advance the platform more and more.
Q: What is stopping programmers using TML right now? If nothing, what is your opinion on why they aren’t?
A: There is nothing essentially missing in TML in order to let it release. And in fact, we are now working towards packaging it and bringing it towards a release level. For things like documentation, bug fixes, minor features, minor optimizations. We indeed actively work towards releasing TML 1.0 and then we can publish it in e.g. developers channels for them to use it.

If you book just the resort, then you continue to need to waste valuable time shopping around for flights. you would like to find flights that meet your particular travel dates and since you cannot be flexible with these dates, it's possible to seek out that you simply can pay a better premium. Finding a package deal removes the strain and provides you with flights and accommodation at one convenient and affordable prices.
When booking at an all-inclusive family resort your accommodation are going to be included. The accommodation provided are going to be based on your family size. this is often a convenient thanks to travel ensuring that you simply have your own space and therefore the children all have their own bedroom and space. Most of those resorts can provide family rooms which reduces the danger of you all being on top of every other in one cramped room. The rooms are usually spacious and well-appointed, enabling you to stretch out a touch and enjoy the vacation experience to the fullest.
Most all inclusive family resorts will provide a number of on-site activities for the entire family to enjoy. this may range from swimming pools to mini golf courses and zip lining to water parks and more. the good news is that if the youngsters love one among the activities and need to enjoy it day after day, you do not need to worry because it is all included in your price, which again helps your travel budget go that bit further.

2020.05.29 15:32 misstheground12 Just got back - 3 1/2 months Traveling in India. Tips for traveling light and India Specific Travel Tips

edit: gold?! Whaat. Thank you kind stranger!
I just got back from traveling in India for three and a half months. I'm not going to get into too much detail about the actual trip itself in this post (obviously it got weird with corona), but I did want to write a little thing about tips for traveling light, and travel tips for India specifically. This is aimed at people who haven't solo traveled before.

My main thing is to travel as light as possible. These tips assume a generally warm climate, although I did experience temps down in the 60's in certain places (feels very cold after 90's) and still did fine. Obviously this is just the way I tend to travel, everyone does it their own way, but maybe some newer travelers will find some things here helpful for when people can travel again.

First off, the advantages of traveling light are pretty obvious. You do a ton of walking while traveling, and it's just less exhausting to have a lighter pack to lug around while you're lost, wandering for miles around the chaotic unmarked streets of Bangalore in 95 degree heat while all the scooters in the city weave around you and blare their illegally amplified horns in unison as they pass by. You also don't have to check any luggage and therefore don't have to worry about your luggage getting lost. You don't have to worry about someone putting your bag up on the roof of the bus where you can't keep an eye on it because you can just keep it in your lap or at your feet. It's also just easier to have fewer things - one bag to keep track of instead of two, and if you're looking for something, it's much easier to find it in a small pack than rifling through something twice as big.

My number one tip for traveling light is to limit yourself to a normal (or small) backpack, because you will fill whatever backpack you bring. A small backpack guarantees that you'll only be able to fill that one small backpack, and you'll automatically force yourself to think more carefully about what you absolutely need.
When packing, air is your enemy. Squish everything down as small as it will go. If you have snacks in bags that are mostly air, fuck that. Open them and put the snacks in a ziploc, or user rubber bands to close them again, and get all that goddamn air out. It sounds a little crazy, but small pockets of air add up really quickly.

This will happen naturally, but put the things you aren't going to use much in less accessible places, and the things you're using all the time in the most accessible places. I never have debit cards/credit cards in my wallet, only cash. I also put most of the cash I get from the ATM back into the backpack, and only carry a little bit at a time. If you really can't fit something into your pack, and you really need to bring it, you can strap it to the outside of the pack. I did this a lot with my nalgene and sometimes with my sweatshirt.

For footwear, just bring one pair of sandals if at all possible. Shoes take up more room than sandals, and they come with socks, which also take up room, and you have to wash the socks. You may think that's crazy, but small things like socks add up quickly in a small pack and rob you of precious space. On this trip I brought TWO pairs of shoes (One pair for walking, one for running) as well as a terrible pair of flip flops that cut my feet. I'd suggest you just bring shitty flip flops and buy sandals on day one. Then either ditch the flip flops or keep them for showering if you really want them. I bought sandals for 300 rupees ($5) that are still going strong and ditched the flip flops and second pair of shoes. The pair of shoes I hung on to largely lived in the bottom of the pack, just taking up space. The sandals I bought were velcro; I'd say don't buy velcro. Go with a gummy or a buckle (like the locals use). The velcro comes undone way too much.

Bring as few clothes as possible. I think this is where a lot of people screw up and bring way too much. My wardrobe was one pair of shorts, one pair of pants (jeans), one t-shirt, one long-sleeved t-shirt, a few pairs of socks, a few pairs of underwear, a hooded sweatshirt, winter gloves, and a hat. If you're walking around in a hot climate with nothing to change into, you're going to be sweating balls and will want to wash your clothes fairly often. To wash, you can shower with your clothes on (using soap on your clothes), or just jump in the river, lake, stream, or ocean with your clothes on. In a hot climate, this will help keep you cool, and the clothes will dry very quickly and be sort of clean (won't stink at least). If you don't want to be wearing wet clothes for a little bit, just wash them in the shower with soap, wring them out, and hang them up.

Also, all your clothing should be light. I brought jeans and thick shorts, and both took up too much room, were heavier, and took way longer to dry because of how thick they were.
A sweatshirt is obviously great for warmth if it's a chilly night, but it also can act as a pillow, a towel, and ground cover. After the first few weeks I wasn't using any underwear at all. Ditch it. Don't choose white for your one t-shirt like I did, unless you want to know exactly how poorly your cleaning job is. I had brought the hat and gloves because I live in Maine and brought them on the way to the airport, but they actually were super nice to have for the "chilly" nights when it got down into the 60's. I'd often go short sleeves during the day, then long sleeves at night as it gold cooler and the mosquitoes came out.

Going against the second biggest piece of advice from Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, I didn't bring a towel. In hot climates you dry so quickly, you don't need it. If it's super humid, you're going to be kind of wet all the time anyway. You can also just use your sweatshirt or your long sleeve to dry if you really need to. Wiping the water down your body or shaking the water off works pretty well.

Resealable ziploc bags (with the little slider nub) are amazing for a lot of things. I brought twenty of them stuffed into a little pocket. They take up basically no space. They can be garbage bags, they can let you easily organize your items while keeping them visible (toiletries, electronics), they can isolate items that might get messy if opened (sun block, hand sanitizer), they can hold snacks that you've opened or leftovers you want to save from the bugs, they can keep things dry if it's going to be raining, they can be used to (sort of) water-proof your phone when you go on river excursions with shorts that have shitty pockets.

Shampoo is just foamy soap. You can just use soap. Or don't wash your hair. After a few days it won't even be greasy. Bar soap also works fine for washing clothes. Just get it sudsy and go to town.
You can also easily buy most things there for much cheaper than here, like a power adapter (a few dollars), bar soap (20 cents), a toothbrush (20 cents), and toothpase (50 cents?). Tweezers and nail clippers are great for getting splinters out.

On travel days, I usually buy a bottle of water to have along with my nalgene. A 2L of water is cheap, but very awkward to transport because of how big it is. Better to just get the 1L.

Tape is helpful to have. Among a million other things, I used it to make new backpack zipper handles when mine started to break. Duct tape is my go-to, but it turns out it's not good for fixing mosquito net holes. Medical tape was way better.

I used the reading light a lot, as well as the flash light. It's good to have alternatives to your phone in case it's dead. Tweezers and nail clippers are very helpful for getting splinters out or sharpening your pencil with the nail filer if your cheap pens shit out on you and you're in the jungle. I used band-aids a lot after scratching mosquito bites. I didn't use the ear plugs, but probably should have. I definitely didn't need a whole package of them. Also didn't really use the bug lotion, but should have. Did use the antibiotics in Varanasi and was glad to have them. Used a lot of sun block, and have been told it's hard to get in India but I didn't notice if it was/wasn't.

A frisbee is a great way to meet locals and takes up very little space in your pack. It's especially good if you can do really simple tricks with it on your own while you wait for a partner. When someone walks by, just gesture at them and show them how to catch it with two hands. If they seem halfway eager, throw them a toss. I had amazing sessions with people you would never expect to be interested - a 50 year old villager tossed with me for 20 minutes, the first half with a machete in his other hand, which made me very nervous. By the end he was running all around, super excited.

Some items I could have used: I brought a book instead of a kindle because my trip was kind of impromptu. Obviously a kindle is going to take up way less space and hold many more books. I did start reading ebooks on my phone, so there's that, but it strains your eyes more than a kindle would and drains the phone battery. My reading light died, and I didn't have any replacement flat batteries. I could have used a small cloth bag for a day pack. It would have been super cheap to just buy one there, but I never did. I made an awkward day pack out of a ziploc bag and duct tape, but it was pretty ugly.

I went with Schwab for my debit card, and Venture Capital One for my credit card. Schwab was great - they reimburse ATM fees. I did seem to struggle, like many people, to get money from Bank of India ATM's.

Capital One was absolute garbage for me. They blocked the majority of my transactions as fraud, even though I expressly told them I would be traveling in India. When I reached them by phone, they wanted me to verify my identity by sending an SMS to my US number, which was impossible because I was in India with the Indian sim card. Unlike every other company ever, they were completely unwilling to verify by email. They finally let me verify by taking a picture of my driver's license, weird, but glad it worked out. Anyway, sometimes even when I was on the phone with them while trying to make a purchase from the jungle when the holy trinity of having power and internet service and a short hold time all miraculously converged, they would be unable to stop the purchase from being blocked, telling me that "that's how our fraud prevention system works". Terrible.

Psychological stuff:
I guess this doesn't apply to solo travel, but if you're thinking about traveling with someone you haven't traveled with long-term before - try going on a weekend trip with them somewhere to see how they travel, how they plan, how they handle unexpected issues. I briefly traveled with a guy who hated making plans and would just change everything at the last minute and you had to follow his lead or he would just ditch you....it was fucking tiring for me, but maybe for someone else that's perfect.
Accept when plans change or don't work out. It will happen. Wherever you go it's most likely crazy and different than your home country anyway, even if it's just the train station floor where you'll be sleeping that night because the city took over all the hotels that day to use for quarantining suspected coronavirus cases.

India Specific:

A smartphone is essential and baked into normal Indian daily life. Buy train tickets (IRCTC), figure out how many hours late your train is running (Rail Yatri / Where Is My Train), get taxis/rickshaws (Ola/Uber), find trails (Maps Me), Make sure your phone can handle 4G in India (many American phones can't, because it's a different wireless band or something). Mine was compatible with India, but only 3G, so I had terrible slow internet the whole time, so check that, too. There are many articles talking about getting an Indian number. It's dumb and annoying but worth it. Even most free wifi in India requires you being able to receive an SMS code, so you can't get the free wifi without an Indian phone number.
Something I was unaware of is that India will turn your sim card off after 3 months, saying that it's because your visa is expiring, even if you're on a longer visa. So just be ready for that if you're staying longer. I got a text that my plan was expiring, added 2 more months to it, then a day later got a text saying they were shutting the sim down because of my visa. Luckily the plans are cheap as hell (like $10 for 3 months), but still. Fuck you Vodafone.

To buy train tickets online, you need an account through IRCTC, which seems to have been created by a drunk twelve year old. It is possible to get an account and to actually buy tickets with an American credit card. I believe there are sites dedicated to explaining this. One weird thing I noticed is that when you're registering your account, when it just says "Country" it means the country of the phone number you're using, so put "India". Otherwise you get an error and it doesn't tell you why it isn't working. When you go to pay for a ticket there are 8 different options for 3rd party payment processing. Sometimes one will work and sometimes it won't. I literally got an error that said "Some error has occurred". This shit is also constantly changing, so get someone to help you if at all possible.

The cheapest places to stay are not online, but it's good to have a few backups in mind if you can't find a cheap place for whatever reason. For example - in Gokarna there are a string of places right on the beach that are R200 ($3.50) a night for a private room, much cheaper than the dorms in hostels that are listed online.

People speak English, but it might be so accented that you struggle to understand, and they also struggle to understand you. It's basically a creole, and if you don't speak it with the right accent, they have no idea what you're saying. I kept saying BTM Layout - "Bee Tee Em Layout" and no one understood me. Finally I pointed to a sign, and they said, "OOOH. Beedeem!"

Always, always ask if you're unsure. Ask multiple people, try to get a consensus. Do not trust one person's answer. Indians love to seem helpful, even if they have no clue. Do not trust google maps in India. It was wrong so many times. Like the thing is on the other side of a really crazy busy street, or not there at all. I walked about a mile in pretty hot weather to an ATM on google maps, and when I got there it was clear there hadn't even been a building there for ten years.

Don't do Holi in Varanasi, or probably any city, especially if you're a woman. It's just a hassle at best and dangerous at worst. I got my balls grabbed from behind by a dude on a scooter. The women with us got aggressively and repeatedly hugged and had to slap a lot of drunk Indians.

On very full trains, general class spills into sleeper class. If you're not assertive you might be sharing your bed with other people, and there will be literally no floor space because it will be full of bodies and you'll have to basically rock climb over them to get to the bathroom.

Don't eat cold street food in Varanasi (Or any street food). Everyone I met in Varanasi had been eating street food all over India, and convinced me to eat it in Varanasi, and then all of us got sick. Very shitty.

I took pictures of what I came back with. As you can see, I added things that took up more room, and still had space in the pack. I'll put captions on the pictures, but briefly it was clothes, nalgene, shoes, sandals, toiletries, tape, reading light, charger, adapter, bug spray, notebooks, bamboo water bottle souvenir, indian print dress souvenir, camera, snacks, souvenir honey split into 3 bottles for TSA regulations, ziploc bags, compass, flashlight, wallet, mp3 player, glasses case, pens, book.

TLDR- If you bring a small backpack, you will have brought a small backpack. Also, fuck Capital One.

It’s finally here! The eighteen greatest castaways from our first chapter battle it out for the title of champion. It all comes down to this. 8 seasons, 128 castaways, and only one CHAMPION!

Michael Yo, 28, 1.3 Runner-Up; u/SilverOwl24
Shawn “The Syncopation” Voldoski, 25, 1.1 Runner-Up; u/swoldow
Snow Kong, 25, 1.6 Runner-Up; u/ccignature
Saboga (Winners):
Aaron Tanakai, 32, 1.4 Winner; u/asiansurvivorfan
Haben Sheeshy, 30, 1.6 Winner; u/Wow_its_a_Korkskrew
Jerry Chiquite, 33, 1.5 Winner; u/Swoldow
Kelsey Harris, 30, 1.1 Winner; u/asiansurvivorfan
Levin Elba, 26, 1.2 Winner; u/ShazamThePowerDogwow
Ryan Brown, 31, 1.3 Winner; u/asiansurvivorfan
The season:
  1. I’m trying something new this season. Here are my winner picks: Snow Kong and Ryan Brown. Best of luck to all! The runner-ups lose our first challenge here in the championship. There’s a very weak pair of Shawn and Don, but anything could happen here. Wow! That is not the way you’d want to lose, as Don is medically evacuated. Tough ending for a strong competitor.
  2. Mogo Mogo loses again, but with no previous vote, it’s unclear where these players stand. It’s a very close vote that sees Scarface get the boot 3-2 over Michael. Bangalore finds herself on the wrong side of the vote. The strong majority at the winners tribe dissolves, leaving all three of these tribes competitive.
  3. Mogo Mogo with yet another loss. This will be a tough hole to climb out of pretty soon. Snow decides to turn on Shawn, but can’t get Bangalore to follow suit. Bangalore gets her torch snuffed 2-1-1. Shawn and Michael are starting to bond.
  4. Who lost? You’ve guessed it. Mogo. Mogo. As expected, Snow pays the price for firing on Shawn, as she sees her bid for champion fall short 2-1.
  5. Shawn and Michael rejoice, as they finally get new tribes. The Denise and Malcolm of this season will try to adapt to their new teams. Shawn and Chapera take the win, forcing Michael and the winners to tribal. Michael gets into a fight right before tribal but manages to make himself the swing vote to send Aaron home. Marquesas is the first season to lose all of its members.
  6. The red tribe does it again! Jerry and Ryan appear to be on the bottom of this tribe of former winners, but perception isn’t always reality. After a 3-3 tie between Kelsey and Haben, Ryan makes a power move to take out Kelsey. We’ll see if it pans out.
  7. Chapera once again proves their physical dominance, beating the gold tribe again. Levin is kidnapped after his close friend, Kelsey, was eliminated last. Michael visits his 7th tribal council in 7 episodes. Haben finds herself under fire again, receiving two more votes. The vote remained deadlocked, forcing a two-man rock draw. Ballsy move by both Michael and Ryan. Michael gets his revenge for season three, as Ryan draws the purple rock. Fate is willing him forward in this season. (There goes my second winner pick)
  8. SABOGA WINS IMMUNITY! Our castaways seeking redemption will get their first taste of tribal council. There’s a very strong trio on Chapera, consisting of Eric, Violette, and Nastasia. The question is whether or not they hid it well enough. The answer is yes, as Al gets a unanimous vote against him. Michael has overcome the odds to be the sole representative of Africa.
  9. The second of two swaps should create some interesting dynamics here. Chapera are the victors. Eric and Nastasia find themselves one vote away from the majority for the second time. Can they work their magic again? They do, as Shawn sides with his fellow former Chapera.
  10. It’s still anyone’s game at the merge. Eric, Violette, and Nastasia are looking to run the game. It comes down to whether or not the others will recognize their threat level. What a vote! It’s 3-3-3, as each alliance of three fires on another. In the end, Eric, Violette, and Nastasia disagree when changing their votes, forcing a rock draw. In the end, Haben bites the bullet.
  11. Jerry wins immunity this time around, leaving Alice and Z in danger. As expected, the vote ends up going between the two. Eric decides that another rock draw is too risky, so he flips on Z in the re-vote to end her journey.
  12. Eric, Violette, and Nastasia are growing extremely close to having the majority on the merged tribe. Shawn manages to get immunity to extend his journey. Alice desperately needs to find a way back into the majority alliance. Unfortunately things didn’t work out, as she’s sent home 5-2, leaving Michael blindsided.
  13. Shawn wins his second immunity! Michael decides to go the route of not stirring up trouble to try to stay in this game. This is the last chance to take a shot at the Chapera three. If one of them doesn’t go home, they should coast to the end. Michael decides to take the kill shot at our final winner (excluding Eric) to avoid another tie. He and Shawn need to find a crack.
  14. Shawn has put a massive target on his back with these immunity wins. Without another here, his time is over. Shawn wins immunity!! He’ll stay alive for one more round. As for his partner in crime, things are looking a bit more grim. What a move! Michael and Violette are able to convince Eric to take out an ally in Nastasia. Nastasia fires back on Eric but can’t get a third vote to back her. You have to be cutthroat if you want to call yourself a champion.
  15. There’s a lot of bonds in this tribe, but it’s time to find out which ones matter. Shawn wins his fourth in a row. He’s come up clutch when it counts. It’s redemption vs. runners-up, as Eric and Michael tie 2-2. Shawn decides to make a move, however, and turn on Michael. It’s a great run that falls painstakingly close to the end.
  16. Can you say five in a row?! It’s deja vu here, as Shawn tries to find a path to the win. After winning the same final three challenge he did in season one, he has a second chance to pick who he wants to bring to the end. He made the wrong choice last time, but he can make up for it here. Shawn chooses… … Violette to go home. This should be a close FTC. Physical game vs strategic game.
Reunion: Just like that, Shawn falls just short again. 5-2. Eric takes the championship after battling through to win redemption. Two wins in a row for him!
Returnees: Returnees for the championship work like this. The top two as always and the last remaining member of each original tribe. These are the following: Eric, Shawn, and Jerry. The final two spots will be determined by this poll. Vote for as many as you want!
Thank you all for another great season! Who played the best game and who got robbed? Make sure to join us again for Chapter 2 coming soon!

2020.05.18 23:08 0hn035 [OFFER - US] Etched glassware galore

Hey all! I have a ton of stock I made for my cons this summer (which were all canceled) so I'd love to trade some of what I have instead! I have a link to all the stuff I have made here: https://postimg.cc/gallery/4hzjwgB if you'd like pictures, but below is also a list. I'll trade for just about anything of crafts, but I am really picky about jewelry and art prints. I like weird, not pretty or cute, in those departments.
I'd prefer US trades since the glasses are fairly heavy. I typically sell the pints and wines for about $15/ea and the smaller stuff for $8/ea. I don't need a perfectly even trade or anything, I find it just makes it easier to make a fair-ish trade when there's a value sometimes.
Oh, also they are dishwasher safe!

2020.05.08 10:35 bitemeshoo To shift from home or not to shift?

I'm a girl. Ive been staying in India all my life, for around 24 years of my life. I have a partner, who's the same age and we have been together for 2+ years and live together now. India is home, and I love the convinience of 'home' although, the quality of life is shit and the society is extremely conservative. The city I stay in is way more advanced and safer than the other cities in Bangalore, but I have had situations where I've felt unsafe multiple times and just generally I do feel unsafe here. We have been discussing shifting out of India, and our parents suggest us the same.
However, home is home. I don't know if I would be able to completely adjust in a foreign environment, making new friends, language barrier, racism and many more ambiguous situations. Obviously the quality of life would be better but the adjustment is what makes me uncertain. Tell me your experiences!

2020.05.02 15:28 BrownBeautiful 29 [F4M], Looking for Love, Vellore, 150 km ish radius, South India.

Funnily enough, this is the sub my ex suggested/ uses. If you see this, hi :P And Goddd I feel old looking at the young uns posting here! :D
Preferred locations- Bangalore, Vellore, Chennai in South India.
Greetings, Indians on Reddit. It's ridiculous to do this online but I see scarce other option when you're a little "modern". I'm a 29 year old quirky, quiet, intense, loving and kind woman. Quite sensitive/ empathetic- the dumbest little scenes in movies make me cry. Doing my masters. I'm tied up in a place with scarce dating options and a pretty tight schedule for the next 4 years atleast. I feel long distance relationships are doomed to fail between new pairs (learnt from experience) but anywhere in a 150 km radius can work to meet when we can- atleast on weekends.
I am 5'4, dark skinned, short haired and curvy. Cute or beautiful to different pairs of eyes. I love travelling, good food, music and random abstract discussions. I would have been a hippy in another life. Or a botanist in this one if I could have been. Sigh. Academic family, little other choice.
Travel and experiences are a priority for me and I look for a like-minded soulmate to explore this world together (though Covid makes the scene apocalyptic and it makes me scared of dying alone). I think vices are okay as long as you have them in control. I do a little wine occasionally and weed with company. I've been on Tinder after I moved out to the city and that should not cause you to cringe or judge but to nod -"ok, this woman has been bold and isn't a shy novice".
I've not had many relationships partly because I grew up in a conservative town with very little freedom for my first 18 years, don't go out much as an introvert, have been in another kinda small town afterwards and overall have not really ever found the sort of guy I'm looking for.
On paper, I am Tamil and Christian but prefer English as a language and am spiritual but not very religious. I am against dowry and believe in being "partners" at home sharing chores and such, not killing myself working long hours PLUS running a house. I don't really think I'm a feminist but like all other things I've thought about, I have strong opinions. Conventional match making through brokers has obviously been disappointing. My parents don't believe I will find a man being "myself" in India. But me going overseas is atleast 5 years in the future and hey, I'm getting old, so I'm giving it a shot in this weird way.
So here I am, strangers. Looking for single guys aged 29 to 33, preferably Tamil/ South Indian (for cultural compatability), Christian, kind, compassionate, who wants to travel, broad minded, fluent in English and having done your masters. I may want/ need to move abroad eventually for my career and I hope you'd be open to that. I'd prefer someone 5'8 and over in reasonable shape and reasonably good looking. I'm not used to guys having long hair, elaborate grooming or piercings. Please don't bring unresolved feelings for your ex and baggage with you. Seperated and divorcés too- I have had a complicated enough life, thank you. Emotional availability is key!
If you, reader, think yourself or a good friend might fit the bill, please message.
No catfishes please. Again, no younger guys and fucbois.
Love can be deep and beautiful where someone accepts and protects you as you are.. with whom you can be naughty, be best friends and be idiot children too.
I have done most things in my life for others' happiness but Love has been the only thing I have ever wanted and it has eluded me.
The ask is big, the list is long.. but with so many fish in the sea I should luck out, right?
